Re: Cat Rules

I must be a walk over my cats are pretty much allowed anywhere and to do whatever they please. Most the time I think they own the house and we are here to serve their wishes LOL! I draw the line at them going in my sons room as he has asthma, so keep the door shut. Also they are not allowed in my bathroom unsupervised as one of them (Yet to find out who!!), likes to pee on my bath mat, but only there?! My persians are indoor only cats so I feel them having the run of the house is my way of making up for the lack of exploring outside, Wu on the other hand is allowed to go where he pleased outside but when in the house is only allowed downstairs (He is a monkey for fighting with the others when they want to sleep). The dogs are only allowed downstairs and not upstairs. I don't like the cats on the work tops but they are fed in my lounge at the dining room table (We don't eat there LOL).
I don't really set many rules for them, if we don't like something I just tend to move them

God I must be soft...Taz has full run of our house, apart from my room now after the asthma attack. How do you stop a kitten from going on the dining table..I'd love to know? He hasn't managed to jump onto the work surfaces yet though

I taught all mine not to go on the dining room table and kitchen sides by squirting with water when I caught them on there and leaving pepper on the surfaces when I was not home. I did this from the second they started to climb up there (so they were very young) and it only took a week or two to teach them.

Oh yeah that reminds me, no food from peoples plates. No one drops food on the floor for them, or hands it to them directly off our plates. Nor are they allowed to lick plates clean. If they are getting some left overs, it will be put in a cat dish for them.

Re: Cat Rules

Mine are not allowed on the worktops, dining room table or on the beds but they are pretty sneaky and have been caught out many times.

Re: Cat Rules

Mine are not allowed on the worktops and not allowed in the bedrooms at all.
The adults have gotta be in by the time I go to bed and they are sleeping in the front room otherwise the dogs sleep on the sofa which is a big no no

Re: Cat Rules

I have a few house rules for my cats

1. Wee and poo must be done in the litter tray only - nowhere else
This cardinal rule is constantly broken by my wayward queens who like to bless various little spots from time to time when they are calling but as we know, that's what rules are for - breaking

2. We must greet each other every day - can be a purr, a kiss, a meow but greetings must happen - humans need this for their sanity - my cats understand this and are happy to humour me.
