Exclamation Help with new kittens

My Cat has just given birth to 3 kittens, but every day the cat won't stop crying or moaning also when we wake up we find out that the cat has moved the kittens to another place. And after each move she comes and spends what seems like an hours shouting at us. Can any one please help. thanks

Cats will cry for their kittens if they do not know where they are, so it may be that she is calling out to them. Cats will move their litter if they do not feel safe or secure enough where they are, if the place she is moving them to is safe for them to go, or can be made safe, allow her to have her nest in the new place, this should make her feel happier.

Do you have any other pets or children in the house? It could be that noise / visits from other family members (or friends popping in) is what’s upsetting her, so try to keep household activity to a minimum. Make sure whatever she is getting upset about is not stopping her feeding them, the best way to do this is to weigh the kittens each day to make sure they are putting on weight (about 10 grams a day at the beginning).

Make sure mum has plenty of food, when nursing they can eat up to 4 times their normal amount and should have food available to them at all times. Also don’t place food and litter tray too far from the nest, that way she doesn’t have to leave the kittens for very long if she doesn’t want to.

After the kittens were born, did you count 3 afterbirths? And does she have any lumps in her tummy from maybe an unborn kit? If you suspect something might be wrong medically, a quick visit to your vet should put your mind at rest, they will check over the kittens while you are there too, to make sure everyone looks healthy.

Hmm. I too am concerned that she's moving multiple times. Get her and her litter to the vet ASAP. She's clearly uncomfortable. That or you do have a noisy, active house and she's getting irritated - particularly if adults or children keep going to her nest and trying to touch / play with the newborns.
