Re: are your cats insured
Yes I would not dream of being without insurance, Petplan for my queen & M&S for my 3 neuters

Re: are your cats insured
I don't because it would cost more to insure them all than to pay the vets bills (15 plus any kits). However I do have a 'pot' that I call my cat fund, if a kitten is sold the money goes in the pot which is used for anything at all that I need for the cats except food/litter. Needless to say I do usually have to add to the 'pot' and have never yet seen a day when it was looking healthy
![]() On the other hand, I do insist that any kittens sold go away with the 6 weeks free insurance from Petplan that is available to breeders, this is for my own peace of mind, not the new owners. It is up to them after 6 weeks if they pay for it or not ![]() |

Nahhhhhhh, I know vet fees are extortionately high but weighing it up better to just pay the vet. Someone with only say 1-3 cats it could be beneficial ![]() |

Speaking as a breeder I dont think there is any pet insurance that would cover a breeding cat anyway. If one of my cats needed a caesarian then it wouldn't be covered by insurance so a bit pointless really. Last edited by Angeli; 02-09-2008 at 06:57 PM. |

Re: are your cats insured
Nope, never have been.
I have a cat at the vets at the moment after he was hit by a car, so far he has had anti-inflamtry injections, metacam, x-ray, an operation and 8 days stay at the vets. The total bill: £300. ...bearing in mind most vets charge at least £30 per overnight stay alone... so why is my bill so cheap... for the simple reason that the bills go up if you are insured as the vets will go to town getting money from insurance companies. From childhood to current (22yrs) I have had 12 cats and this is the most expensive vet bill I have ever had, so I stand by my choice. |
