Re: Another Broken Pelvis

I saw a cat run over a few years ago and the driver just drove off. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the number as it was too far away. I don't know how people can do that.

Your neighbours sound amazing. Poor little Smudge - what a scary thing to happen to him.

Thinking of you both and wishing him lots of healing.

xx

Thanks very much Lumpy, yeah I am well impressed with the folks round here (i haven't lived here long!).

I know, the poor little guy, he is only 9 months old, so he is still a baby really. He seemed to calm down alot just seeing me and my oh, I guess familier faces help.

Re: Another Broken Pelvis

Thank goodness he's on the mend. Luck you have great neighbours.

It should be common courtesy to stop and try and locate the owner but it isn't illegal to drive off, not even for a dog the only difference is you have to report a dog. Unless the law been changed.

Personally I think whatever animal is the victim of a RTA it should be reported immediately.

Re: Another Broken Pelvis

Unfortunatly the x-rays have revealed it is a bit more compicated than he first let on, although he does not seem to be in any pain, it seems the reason he has kept on pooing himself is because the nerve that controls his anus is actually trapped in the break in his pelvis.
He is at the vets at the mo, and we should hear more sometime tomorrow.

Just an update, my boy Smudge is still at the vets and is hopefully having an operation today to put his guts back in the right place... so please send you good thoughts this way...

Re: Another Broken Pelvis

Thanks very much, spoken to the vet, operation went okay, but unfortunatly there was more than one hole in his muscles (where his guts were comming through) to he will need another operation in a couple of weeks time to repair the rest.
