I love Da Bird!

Ibought it for Loki but I'm amazed, it's even got Annie playing!! This is a miracle a) because she has been a grumpy old woman for the past four weeks (due to kitten) and will hardly even entertain being inside and b) because she is 10 yrs old and I think the last time I saw her playing with ANYTHING was about 5 years ago!!

Not only is she playing but she's back flipping through the air. I knew it was amazing but I never imagined it would interest Annie!

I think it's even helping her bond a little bit more with Loki as they are both playing with it in the same room, and she's too distracted to bother hissing at him (that is until he ran directly into her by mistake - he wasn't looking where he was going!)

I am sooo happy with it!! Although she can only play in bouts of 5 minutes at a time as she is getting on a bit and has to have a lie down after all that leaping.

Re: I love Da Bird!

I can safely say that our cats jelled with the kitten because of the wonders of the da Bird (oh, and the laser pointer). What a great toy.

Re: I love Da Bird!

I dont put the feathers on my da bird anymore as they only last a week or 2.
at the moment i have the mouse on it and they go just as potty over that.
also have a fur and a fluff attachement that they love too

Re: I love Da Bird!

We have one as well ... actually we have two as I had heard they don't last long so bought two together.

The trick is not to let them catch it very often ... just like in the wild they would have a very high miss rate. We are still on bird no.1 which still has all its feathers in tact after almost 2 months!

thing is my boy seems to have velcro paws, he just sticks his hand up and anything in the air gets captured!
and if i do it too high up he is not interested and just sits watching it and the whole point is for him to run around!!

Re: I love Da Bird!

Spartacus loves hers. We have the one with the pole when we play with her (loving the big living room for that!) and then I have a long piece of ribbon with small pieces of velcro both ends which the feather bit get connected to. This then gets attched to the wall hanging below the stairs so she can play and bat it about when were out, but if she gets tangled or pulls to hard it snaps off. It always remained intact but i thought it can be a bad idea! (I am going to "alter" a snap collar instead of velcro but I had loads of velcro left after doing her scratchy mat.

Every night we hear this poor feather getting battered. Although as soon as she catches it, she lets it go so were still on feather number one

Re: I love Da Bird!

It's brill, never thought I'd find a toy that gets Annie interested again!! I try not to let em catch it often but they seem to be a lot quicker than me at times! Where do you buy other attachments? As I bought it on ebay.
