I am now a mummy...

...well I meet LousKoonz today and spent a few hours with her and the BlueKoonz gang. Dee is an absolute sweetie and Louise has kindly allowed us to take her home with Mark and I to make our family 3 . So far she hasn't eaten or drank much but is happy exploring the living room, flat and hallway. She has been to the loo in the littertray so can't be too unsettled and has been playing and sitting with us (see below). Hopefully I am working from home tomorrow to help us both settle and then tomorrow night is time to go shopping. Dee was meant to be mainly for me...but it would seem that Mark is rapidly falling in love too (but sshhh I didn't tell any of you that!).

I've attached some pics

a) first of all hiding under the dining table
b) sat on my armchair
c) having taken over Mark's footstool she is lay watching top gear

Re: I am now a mummy...

Little bit worried that I have scared her, she was doing really well but last night she was up on the armchair with me and then started walking backwards. Slipped off the seat a bit adn she put her paw forward to try to cling on but clawed into my foot. I yelped a little (not majorly) and moved my foot away (auto-reaction) but since then she has been hiding under the sofa and armchair again although not keeping to the opposite end of the room which is what she did at first.

Rationally I think it is probably normal, just her adjusting and need to give her some time and carry on as we are. I mean noone told her she was about to be moving families did they...But irrationally I want her to be happy and settled straight away (unrealistic human wants I guess).

Will let you know how it goes this evening when we get home...

Re: I am now a mummy...

Can't get to her to scratch behind her ear...tried that cos it definitely worked yesterday to begin with. Going shopping tonight so will buy some toys and treats and see if she takes bribery.
