Help!! Two stray kittens!!

Hi, last week my boyfriend and a friend were taking a dog for a walk...the dog was acting weird toward rubbish bin so they went to have a look. They found a kitten under the rubbish bin near where I live. So they came and told me and I came to help out to look for rest of the kittens. But we found other one and there's no sign of rest of kittens. We took them in and gave them bath because they are so dirty. I think someone's cat who had kittens couldn't cope with them and dumped them.
We had weighted two kittens (female and male) and it came unsure because the female is weighted of 4 weeks old and the male weighted of 5 weeks old. Is it normal that male one is bigger than female?
I've decided to take care of them till they are old enough to go new homes.

Re: Help!! Two stray kittens!!

I wouldn't take too much notice of the weights. Are they eating solids?

Re: Help!! Two stray kittens!!

sometimes cats find somewhere else to havekittens rather than home , a few years ago my pregnant cat came through the catflap looking skinny (panick stations) shed got in through a broken window in my shed , which was overloaded and bursting , took me about an hour and a half in the dark with a torch to unload shed and find the kittens in the farthest corner , i was lucky it was in my back garden but could of been anywhere i keep outdoor cats in a week before due date now but as misty is going to be done in a few weeks and all my other cats are house cats shouldnt have that again ................ and i guess as much as we'd like to think our cats are good mums it also takes alot of effort to ensure the kittens are kept clean safe and healthy , changeing bedding , fleaing and worming introducing litter and food so you can understand how a ferral litter of kittens would look so bad , i expect mummy cat has been doing her best but its hard work in the wild so thankfully you have rescued these babies and will bring them back to good health ........................ good luck wirh them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Help!! Two stray kittens!!

Thanks for your comments and yes the kittens are eating well and gets on with my two cats well. They are being looking after well.
The kittens are so adorable and playful and I fell in love with them but I would love to keep them but I already got 2 cats of my own.

One problem, I have to give the kittens bath everyday as they kept having poos stuck on their feets so is there anything I can prevent that from happening?

Re: Help!! Two stray kittens!!

What a lovely person you are taken the kittens in and caring for them. Glad to hear they are doing okay.

I would think the kittens will learn where to put their feet after a poo, mine at 7 weeks got poo on their feet and shook it off sh*t flying everywhere. They are fine now they have learned to do things properly.
