Marmy's mom is on a distinguished road
Unhappy Two new kittens

I recenmytly adopted Marmy four weeks ago from a friend. She is a beautiful orange Tabby. My boyfriend and I work all day so we decided to adopt her brother from the same litter, Julius. They seem to be getting along but they are constantly pouncing on each other. I live in a one bedroom apartment, so there is really no way to separate them. I kind of hoped they would remember each other but it does not seem that way. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

hey, alfie and evie did that also. I would say that they are just playing! if one of them draws blood, then Id say they're fighting, but give them time, and they'll calm down. Feliway plugs are good too, as they will calm both kittens.

unless one gets hurt, keep them together, as i would say they'll cam down again!

Re: Two new kittens

Pouncing on each other is normal kitten play, as is approaching each other on tiptoes sideways, wrestling, lashing tails before leaping on each other, chasing wildly round the room, etc. These are kittens you are talking about - how old? I expect they curl up to sleep together when they have exhausted themselves? It all sounds perfectly normal to me.

Re: Two new kittens

Tabitha's five fur babies are 10 weeks now and constantly chase each other, jump up on the climbers and furniture then pounce on each other. I can hear them all running around upstairs above me as I type I think it's part of being a kitten! It does look quite rough sometimes but they never hurt each other so I've never considered separating them.

They do snuggle up together when they are tired and wash each other as well so I am sure they love each other really.

Tabitha and Tigger (her brother) were like that too as kittens and even now my older three 14, 13, 13 will sometimes ambush each other and pounce when they are feeling particularly lively.

It sounds normal, healthy kitten behaviour to me. I think they kind of practice their hunting skills on each other before they go out into the big, bad world (for those who are going to be outdoor cats).

Re: Two new kittens

Now that Alfie and Evie are used to each other, they groom each other, and escort each other to the loo! Its so funny! They're very affectionate... Need to get them done quite soon!!...
