We go away in a couple of weeks and when we get back, I think we going to start letting him out. I'm so worried that he's going to run off though! He's into everything, he's so nosey. We take him out on a lead at the minute so he's getting used to it and he LOVES being outside. He cries at the door when we bring him back in though and it drives me mad. He looks at me with those big eyes and cries like a baby
aww thats cute is he chipped? worth gettin him done if hes not b4 u let him loose

also sprinkle a bit of his used litter round the perimeter of your garden that way if he does go for a wonder he will be able to smell his teritory.

he should be fine tho if youve had him from december an hes been out with you.

as for my pair .... well its all fun and games at the min lol ollie loves fuss if i give it to willow he bites her bum. so willow waits for him to sleep which is prob bout 4am then she decides oooh time for a fuss lets wake luisa up ... walks on my face LOL

Re: Could I have a Maine Coon?

He is chipped yeah, but we only moved into the house 3 weeks ago so I need to change the address (which if you could let me know how to do this that would be great)

He will have been in the new house for 7 weeks when we get back. Do you think that is still too soon? He has been going out almost everyday after the first week we moved in.

I've had cats all my life and have always worried about letting them out for that first time, especially as one of them never came back , but I don't think I can contain him much longer, he's too bloody interested in the outside world!

Re: Could I have a Maine Coon?

Maybe try him on the harness for the first few days outside? Just so he can have a sniff about without you having to worry about him darting off over a fence :3

He's a lovely boy either way though ^-^

Re: Could I have a Maine Coon?

Just to throw a spanner into the works ...........

If you look at my avatar ,there are similarities ,and he is a Norwegian Forest Cat.

They too ,are very vocal ,will groom you and generally hang around like a love sick puppy.

Re: Could I have a Maine Coon?

I hesitate about the chin. Coons have more massive chin. And the coon’s character is more cool. I see (I mean your photo) some long-hair pedigree, maybe Siberian or Norwegian Forest Cat.

Re: Could I have a Maine Coon?

Is there any way to know for sure?

He obviously didn't come with any papers as he was in the RSPCA, and even though he looks very similar to a coonie, norwegian forest and siberian, I think he is maybe cross with any one of these, and TBH, I don't really care as I love him anyway

But it would be interesting to know...

Re: Could I have a Maine Coon?

hi
Your lovely cat looks really like mine. We got Tabby from the RSPCA a few years ago and her fur grew and grew. We thought she looked like a Maine Coon so then we went and got one for company. (Now we have three of them)
But now we have them side to side to compare she is much much smaller and doesn't have the tufty ears and muzzle shape. I think there's a bit of MC in her but more moggy. She is still gorgeous though...

Your baby looks very like a Siberian or a Norwegian Forest to me, especially in the second pic...
