Re: Kitten Care - with Albie & Mabel

My hat off to you and your dad for doing all this for those cats! That is bloody amazing! Shame that the rescues are letting you guys down - feral or not feral.

You really should pat yourself on the back and say well done, because that’s not easy to achieve. Too often in here we see posts where people buy 6 week old kittens weighing 380grams and a fortnight later they are only 400grams… and those posts …. I won’t even go there. Suffice to say they tear my heart out.

And any advice I might have given you in the past regards food… it came from Billyboysmammy or Hobbs, lol and was just regurgitated by me. I am on a massive learning curve too when it comes to food.

I don’t know the high life food (or feline fayre) I think they are British brands and we can’t get them here. But it’s on my “please bring from the UK” list for any visitors I might get, lol.
its been really really hard work getting their weights up. really hard. i practically havent been out the house since i had them and have been watching their every move haha. iv spent so many hours building a bond with them and sitting by their food encouraging them to eat. at the begining i wouldnt sleep until i knew that they had eaton 5 portions of wet dinner and had their milk intake and water intake for the day. i was a crazy cat lady LOL.

its nice now to relax a bit, they have 2 and a half meals a day now.

the highlife food is alright its a tiny bit more expensive then grau i think but its available in supermarkets here ( not all tho ) but its nice to be able to see them enjoying it. they like the chicken n liver one the best ( you can actually see liver pieces in it too)

where do you come from ?? im sure if i have some cans or any of the pouches left over after iv introduced the grau to my kitties i could send you some ?

I come from the UK (and move around quite a bit) but currently live in Holland. Thanks so much for the offer of some high-life... but Mrs Hobbs is already on the case, lol. Soon I will be living the high life with my trial tin (pouch?) of HL.

All your efforts on the kittens weights has certainly paid off ... and you now have two chubby 10 week olds. That's no mean feet and something you really should be very proud of. You must pass your knowledge on in the many "my kitten won't eat" posts.

thank you !!

still a work in progress... i want to make sure they maintain a healthy weight and not turn into barrels on legs now LOL
i think it will even out as i wont have to feed as much of the grau as i do any other food.

As for the rescues, yea it is a shame we couldnt get homes for some of the lil ones but on the other hand they helped us loads with spaying and vac's and micro chipping, they did it for a substantial donation

i do try when i see one to pass it on but its up to the person to actually try it

some people dont even bother coming back after theyve posted which i find quite frightening esp when they are going on about how much their cats puking etc

some people are clueless.

I wasnt clueless when i come on here but iv found out soooooo much since i have joined up its like a cat bible.

i hear holland is is a very pretty place one of my best mate spent 3 weeks out there earlier this year ( in the snow )

Re: Kitten Care - with Albie & Mabel

Has Mr Whiskas been scared away?

I was very interested to hear about more products and more specific answers about the alien meat

I would especially like to know if the pouches have the same meat content as the cans? for some reason my cats wont touch the canned food
