Re: Alfie... OCD???

Its so funny to watch, especially because he does it again after Evie's finished eating, which is hillarious because she just looks at him as if to say, "excuse me!!"

They do look funny dont they mine are 2 yrs old now and still do it. Roony will even claw the plaster at back of his bowl when he is done as well. My new kitten just sits watching them she will probably start doing it as well

Re: Alfie... OCD???

Mine scratch the ground after a meal. I think its a natural instinct my two try to cover it up, may be to keep it fresh.

Hiya, my cats used to do the exact same thing. I did alot of research into it and found it is because the cat(s) are worried that someone else may eat there food.

Cats like eating lots of little meals, so they will generally not eat the whole bowl at once ie: leave some for later.

If you have two cats, then they are worried the other might eat theirs, or if you have one, he/she may be worried you are going to eat it when he/she leaves the room.

They are simply trying to preserve their food by burying it!!! So nothing to worry about, and it's certainly not OCD. But the thought of a cat with OCD is very amusing :P
