Re: New Kitten Questions

Hello and welcome

Have you posted any pictures? if not hurry up.

I have owned cats for many years, I have bought the best money can buy by way of cat beds, just a waste of money, none of them have used a cat bed.

My two new kittens don't have a cat bed they sleep in the spare room which has a double divan bed in I have removed the legs so the base sits on the floor. Through the day a lap will do or the sofa and even the floor by the patio where the sun comes in (when its out).

Mine would settle on a night provided I went in and re-assured them for a few minutes. Now they are 4 months old forget it no matter what if they want out they open the door. Last night I left it open for them so they have the run of their room, landing, stairs and hallway. That worked well so I will do the same tonight. Its a question of giving them as much freedom as possible in safe areas ie no wires etc..

I wouldn't have thought it would be cold this time of year, depending on where you live of course. I just bought a remnant piece of carpet that happened to be the right size for the room, it was only cheap from Carpet Right. Just be careful of the type of carpet as kittens and adult cats can ruin some types of carpet in seconds.

As for a collar I suppose he could hurt himself. As my two are identical I have a different colour collar on them so I know which is which. It took them a little time to get used to it but they are find now.

Four feeds a day is exactly what I do and I find they always have a little left I just throw that away clean their dish and serve the next meal.

I can only speak from my own experience and I have found cats don't tend to over-eat.

Sue
