Re: Does anyone recognise this persian?

This could be a completly made up, there could be no relationship fall out of any sort, they may just be trying to find an excuse to sell a non registerd ped under the pretense that she is registered.

If the story is true, we don't know what the wife has done to him first.

i guess without papers shes not worth anymore than £150 and as for the kittens if any they probably wouldnt be even worth that with no history im sure you can get very good pedigree persians for £300 that you know the history of ,

Well, IF (and it is an IF) you could trace the stud owner - which really shouldn't be difficult if the story is true - you would only need the name of the stud and the queen and both sets of grandparents and that probably would not be impossible. You do not have to be the breeder tor egister the kittens, and I daresay the GCCF would permit the registration to proceed without having complete registration numbers if you said the breeder had not given you that information. You would have to have the stud owner on your side to supply the mating certificate. Ok it might not work (if the GCCF refuse to proceed without the queen's registration number) but I would guess that it's odds on that it would work.

Of course it is also possible that anyone who bought in this girl (and I would, if I had the money / space / a more sympathetic husband) would be able to contact the owner and perhaps negotiate something.

I would have to agree with that... it could be a possibility that this is the case.

I also like how he mentions

I know the wife sold the last kittens for £350 each
. Trying to sell her by letting idiot people know they could make money from her babies (that she might be carrying). That is absolutely sick! What if some byb comes along and has her just to get hold of them kittens.

I know you say without papers she or the kittens wouldn't be worth much, but there are ALWAYS buyers who aren't up on all this stuff who will pay out that sort of money.

God, I really really hope this poor cat finds the best home ever, I really do.

If they have split up and it's the wifes cat, then why hasn't she got it? She obviously isn't that bothered about it otherwise she wouldn't have left it behind.

And also, we do not know the FULL story here, only they do... so who knows what's going on.

I'm just assuming that the husband has been left with the cats, so then what's the point in letting the wife know... she should have taken them with her.

Well yes there is that. On the other hand she might have told him she would be back for the cats. But then of course it might not be possible for her to have the cats if she's moving into rented accommodation.

Things would have to be very bad indeed for me to leave my husband with my cats, I can tell you that!

One thing that makes me think the story is true, is that at first this chap was saying he didn't have the vaccination certificate, now he says he has foudn it. I can see no point in him claiming he couldn't find it, unless he really didn't know where it was. I would have thought though that it would be becoming obvious to him that it would be financially worth his while to find the registration and pedigree papers, assuming they exist.
