Re: Problem!!!!
The desired age today is 8 weeks and above but years ago it was common practice for them to be six weeks. Five weeks is pushing it but under the circumstances perhaps your mum is right, even though I would be inclined to wait a little longer.
You'll find a loving home for mew, put ads in local shop windows (it used to be free but I think they charge a small fee now). Good luck. Sue |

Re: Problem!!!!
The 2 kittens that I found abandoned last week were only 5 weeks old (according to the judgement of the vet nurse and after lots of online research I am inclined to agree with her)....they have needed round the clock watching and even though they are weaning well they still need to be watched/washed and topped up with formula etc at the moment.....I would expect only someone with lots of cat/kitten experience could manage this and cope with what is required.....they really need mum. Mine were unfortunately left with no choice at such a young age. I know you have their mum poorly but they look to you as their mum now....dont let them down.....
