Re: Pet Insurance

We do insure our pets and have a money away-if your cat is an outside free roaming cat then yes As with any insurers none imo are fab but their are a few that are the best out of a not great bunch-so take the time to shop around and understand fully what you want and what they cover for and the maximum they are willing to pay out at any time, speak to your vet and ask their opinion too as some vets won't deal with certain insurers as they often get tied up trying to recuperate their fee's and again some don't shell out for things you may need for your catLots to think about but i think worth it-good luck in your decision

Re: Pet Insurance

We have taken out pet insurance on our 4, but the costs were wildly different for some of mine with various companies. We have the 2 younger ones with Tesco (for life) and the other 2 with M&S (for life) cos it was our cheapest option based on their breed and age etc. I would def get insurance as when my Raggie girl was ill I was really worried that things could get out of hand cost wise and have learned a lesson from that fright....fortunately things went good in the end....but you just never know do you?

Re: Pet Insurance

Thanks guys i have decided to change from E&L to M&S as i agree reputation of E&L seems a bit dodgy - also took 3 days to get thru to them on the phone - M&S may have been a bit more expensive but easier toget thru to and seemed to offer more - will keep you posted

Re: Pet Insurance

I`m with Pet Plan. I think there are pros and cons with all of them to be honest. It`s best to shop around though.

Re: Pet Insurance

Thanks for all the replies i just wanted to add a warning re E&L - i have spent 3 days trying to get thru to them on the phone to cancel my policy and have been met with an answermachine everytime which asks you to leave a message and then doesnt let u! Def glad i came on forum and followed you guys advice and cancelled - you wouldnt want to be trying to get E&L in a hurry! After about 30 attempts on 3 different numbers i eventually got them - 2 days away from the end of the cooling off period! Phew!

Re: Pet Insurance

i used to be with E&L too then when i had problems with them i went to halifax insurance for the dog, halifax give u a discount if u insure more than 1 pet with them but whn i went to insure my 2 kittens they wanted to charge different amounts for them, i can see a reason for that if they were different breeds, but they r both just moggies, i searched online and they r now covered with more than insurance, they also include a 24hr vetcare line too

Smile Re: Pet Insurance

I took insurance out yesterday for my girlfriends mums Patterdale Terrier, searched around and M&S was the best deal at around £8.50 a month and that was their premium cover with £7500 Vet Fees. Some of the other major companies where asking £16 - 20 for similar cover.
