Re: Pet Insurance

Oh i think i missed this thread...

I actually don't have pet insurance, in my experience vet bills actually go up if you say you have pet insurance for two reasons, (1) the vet knows someone else is footing the bill so will 'go fo gold' (2) if the owner does not spend more than their excess, then they are not going to feel they got their monies worth.

Scince I was a child we have had 12 cats (not including my cats kittens) and have probably spent less than £500 in vet fees over the years. I may have just been lucky
I guess it all depends if you can afford to take the risk aswell. But remember to check what is covered, check ups, routine treatment (jabs) and maybe even diagnosis wont be covered. So they all still need to be paid for on top of the insurance policy.

Re: Pet Insurance

I dont have pet insurance, I put a certain amount away each month to cover any vet bills that might crop up. As a breeder Ive found that insurance doesn't cover breeding queens.

I have been lucky so far that my cats and kittens are a pretty healthy bunch and have never been ill, they only visit the vets for their vaccinations or speying/neutering therefore for me personally it has been worthwhile doing it this way. I have probably saved a fortune over the years as the monthly outlay would otherwise have gone to waste.
