Persian Grooming

looking for some advice with an older persian, she's almost 9 now
she's always been scrawny and has never had the best of coat.
she's losing a lot of undercoat at the moment (hoping hot weather realted)
and keeping on top of it with current brush (old mini one of mine lol) aint working
what brushes would everyone recommend?

Re: Persian Grooming

i use a retractable rake type brush, which gets down to the undercoat really well and removes tangles instantly, zoom grooms are good for removing loose hair and massaging and slickers(pin head brushes)are good for removing hair/tangles,finishing brush.

Hi Clare, do you have any links for the retractable rake type brush so I can see what you mean? I may have one already amongst my multitude of stuff, but never heard of one called this. Don't want to think I've missed out on something different. A link with a piccie would be brill. Cheers. C.x.

Re: Persian Grooming

I used to have two persians.. And when summer time came we'd get them shaved.. They called it the "lion cut".. Where they kept the main, and the last bit of their tail.. and their feet

My kittys seemed to love the fresh air..

But otherwise.. For brushing i'd use those wired brushes.
