Re: So Peeved off!!!

Gem just accept the fact that things are not going to change. Breeders can and do have accidents, as do well meaning moggie owners. All they can do is accept they made a mistake in not getting their girl neutered in time and then spay them after the kittens.

It's education that owners need like a lady that didn't realize house cats need to be neutered.

It won't ever change. All you can do is carry on doing what you are, you're making a great difference to cats and kittens lives.

I don't think anyone should breed cross breeds for the sake of it to make money or not. Unless of course it's a proper breeding program.

Why do people breed cats? Pedigree cats? to help the breed progress so only fine examples of the breed should be used, not unregistered pet kittens. They are sold as pets for a reason.

Anyways I'll shut up. It's a free world and if people want to breed their moggies then there is no law to say they can't so long as they are responsible for giving them good homes and take them back if the owners no longer want them so they don't end up in the shelter. It's also important the breeder of moggies or peds inform the owners of the Importance of neutering.

Re: So Peeved off!!!

There is one breeder of Norwegian Forest cats who will not let his kittens go until 6 months and they will have been neutered.

There is a Maine Coon breeder who has found a vet who will do early neutering and hopes to do this before letting the kittens go.

Cross breeding has its place but I think it should be monitored and regulated by the GCCF and TICA.

I can't understand a buyer buying a non-registered cross breed - is there some sort of quodus in that? Surely ownership of a bona fide pedigree has more quodus?
