Re: Question for all breeders..........
has she got a prefix?
kitten farm churning out loads of kittens to make money. if she has too many cats to cope with it's simple, contact cat's protection or a breed charity. are they siamese? they can got to foster homes until homes are found. it's not fair on these kittens or adults.... prob pregnant all the time. |

Re: Question for all breeders..........
Kitten Farm...woah!
There are 2 different breeds of cats one is expensive and one is rare and extremely expensive. Yes registered not sure of prefix but remember rosettes on a wall - said they were from years ago. Phoned Lian before see if she spoke to her and she has and one queen in labour had 5 kittens upto now 2 alive, 3 dead (1 was deformed) and shes still in labour. Said doesnt want take queen for C-Section as she wont be able to feed her kittens?? Quote:

Re: Question for all breeders..........
Well, if the breeder were looking after the kittens on behalf of someone who has either left the country or died, there is a good reason to keep them somehow but this would not be kitten farming then. People do die and their friends are left coping with things as they are. I am assuming that the breeder had a reasonable excuse for having so many and putting them in various cages ..... I don't like to think badly of people without knowing the circumstances properly.

Re: Question for all breeders..........
Sorry but I am really finding it hard to understand what some people are typing, I think you may be getting a little excited when typing.
![]() I would just like to clarify, no-body knows who this breeder is? And no-body knows whether these kittens are kept in these pens perminantly? |

Re: Question for all breeders..........
I recall a big name breeder (fortunately perhaps I have completely forgotten who it was - not my breed, I just bought a stud pen from her) who had a huge living room with cats and ktitens in cages stacked two high all round the room. I had 11 cats at the time and I have a very poor sense of smell but even so the stench almost knocked me over. Sitting in the midst of this mess was the lady's husband, watching the TV and saying forlornly "I don't even like cats!"
At the moment I have my kittens (10 weeks) penned up for part of the day in a large outdoor stud pen, and at night they are usually in a kitten pen in the kitchen. When I am able to supervise them I let them out, but we have a genuine problem at the moment namely a huge hole in the back door, and although we live in a safe cul de sac with a large garden, I don't want the kittens stolen! Yes I am looking forward to the door being fixed!! Now, add into the mixture one very unfriendly (to cats) queen who can only be confined to one room if any other cats are upstairs, and one heavily pregnant queen who is at the grumpy stage and does not need to be stressed, and the reasons for confining begin to become clear. It's a bit of a juggling act making sure the unfriendly queen doesn't come into contact with anyone else, and keeping the pregnant one away from any stress, and that's even when there are no kittens around. I do allow the kittens their freedom for part of each day when I can closely supervise them, usually in the evenings. Though when it happens to be pouring down with rain(often!) I can put them in the kitchen for an extra run around as they won't then attempt to go out. |

Re: Question for all breeders..........
god that sounds so bad
that sounds like a kitten farm to me! i have 2 indoor pens which i use until kittens are up and about and feeding, then they integrate with the group during the day and are penned at night until they are around 8 weeks, then they stay out. |
