Totally fed up....

Been up to our local animal rescue today to try and find a neutered boyfriend for my bunny Gizmo, there was only one candidate and the 'date' didn't go to well, she kept making a buzzing noise and he kept thumping at her and trying to mount her. Think it might be a good idea to leave her on her own for a bit but not sure about a boy bunny now.
In the meantime had a peek in at the cats - I had seen one on their website who could be rehomed with dogs and cats (perfect and unusual) and i've totally fallen in love with him, and he has exactly the same nature as my old cat Max who i miss loads. the trouble is my OH is not as great an animal lover as me and has said no, he thinks 2 cats and a dog in a semi are enough as it is. Really sad as this lad is such a sweetie and he reminds me of Max so much really bummed out now and think i might have to drown my sorrows. Anything good on tonght to watch to cheer me up. Am already trying to be understanding to my OH and not be too miffed with him - luckily he's gone out!!

Re: Totally fed up....

I'm trying to think of something i can do a swap for He doesn't give much when it comes to the pets. I don't think 3 cats and a dog is excessive feel really mean knowing he's in the rescue all alone, knew going in would get me wish i had a huge mansion with a wing just for my pets lol

That's not a bad idea, knowing my luck though i'll finally convince him and the puss will have already been rehomed, wish i could understand why he is so fussy about animals can be a real pain sometimes. I keep telling him loads of people have more animals than me so it's not unusual don't think he believes me though

Tell him your mate Chrissy, just down the road, has 16 cat and 2 kittens, so 1 more cat wouldnt hurt, he'd hardly notice

Tell him phone me hehe 5minutes with and he'll be like ''ok ok ok get the kitty its a great idea''....on a serious note though....if your gut instinct is telling you he should be there with you then follow it! So long as you know your limits with animals etc and can provide for then all easily then I dont see the problem. xxx

Re: Totally fed up....

I think it's just cos he's really struck a note i'd never met a cat like Max before and with this boy being so similar it just kinda seems like fate if that makes sense. I don't think he'd be any trouble at all and he'd settle in well but i think that would be our limit as i am conscious that my OH isn't as big a fan as me but i think i might persist a little with this one...... fingers crossed

Re: Totally fed up....

I love my cats to bits as I'm sure eveyone does here, but my OH has to come first.
Now you tend to get three types of blokes when it comes to cats.
a) No, and no means no.
b) No... I don't think so... well maybe... oh okay then.
c) Yes!

I think only you know if your OH is an (a) or a (b), if hes a (b) then work away, but if he is an (a) then you are best off drowning your sorrows with a drink and not making your OH do something he doesn't want to do .
