advice required

Hi all,

I need some advice in dare I say it...the toilet department.

Vogue had her kittens on Sunday eve/Mon morning they all seem to be doing well they are feeding ok and gaining weight I just have a small concern that mum isnt doing her best at toileting and keeping them clean.

The bed has had a few small poos in and one or two of the kittens seem to have had dirty bottoms. I watched Vogue give one a quick lick then spit the poo back out. (must not like the taste!)

Ive tried hoding a kittens bottom to mums face and she has given them a quick lick.

Anybody any advice as I dont want to do the job for her if I can help it

Re: advice required

Wouldn't worry at all. Several of my girls over the years have been like that; some just seem not to like doing it much and who can blame them

Unless the kittens' bottoms get really messy, I wouldn't even interfere by cleaning them up myself... not very nice, I know, but left it may well prompt her to clean them up a bit better which, in turn, will stimulate them to keep going properly. She's obviously 'cleaning' them enough for them to poo, just not consuming much of it... just a case of picking the bits of poo out of the box. Another lovely cat breeding chore
