very sad news

saphira went into labour today but kitten was still born,it came out breech and my husband had to help her out.

The kitten was distatched from the after birth and had a hole in his tummy with some bowel outside(sorry if this is too much information).

Saphira is ok and has eaten some tea but is resting in her box.
No more kittens for her as we dont think its fair to put her through that again.

Oh I'm sorry to hear that I hope saphira is still doing ok, hard to tell when she'll be feeling out of sorts because of losing her baby as well I suppose.
Has te vet looked at her? The way she was born and the umbilicle the way it was might carry a high risk of infection ..fingers crossed everythings ok though bless her xx

Re: very sad news

I am really sorry to hear about the kitten. Although upsetting it was lucky she was still born, those poor little inside out babies can be born alive. She was just a little soul returned to this world before her time and she has gone back to wait for a better time to be born.

I hope Saphira is OK.

Re: very sad news

Saphira is doing well,no more white loss coming out. We spoke to the vet this morning and he is going to get bck to us on weather we can get her spayed straight away. the kitten was beautiful, very unusual colouring.

Re: very sad news

Oh how sad! I'm so sorry for your loss It's devestating when you've invested so many hopes, sleepless nights and love onto mum and her precious cargo. I hope Saphira is doing ok ... has she definately finished? A friend had a premature litter last year, all born sleeping but there was a 24 hour gap between kitten 3 and 4 (4 babies in total).

((hugs))
