Re: info req on poss pregnant siamese
Any thoughts on what? Whether she is spayed or not? No one not even a vet could tell you that, they would have to open her up to say for sure.
What exactly were you told when you purchased her? Did you have any paper work with her? Did you buy her as a pet? Why did you put her straight in with a friends stud boy? Were any matings witnessed by your friend. Siamese as a breed are generally very affectionate, they are highly intelligent and need constant companionship and mental stimulation. Also if you have never had a Siamese before then they can seem to be exceptionally vocal, but you get used to their running commentary. If she is constantly hungry, has she been wormed recently. Most Siamese do have very good appetites yet manage to maintain a very svelt figure. What are you feeding her?

Re: info req on poss pregnant siamese
How long ago did you put her with the stud? after about 3 weeks her nipples will go very pink and get bigger. Im not sure about other peoples experiences but i thought pregnant cats are supposed to be very quiet. when i got lacey the lady told me she was very vocal and she hasn't made a single noise since i've had her. And as saikou said there naturally very friendly and crave attention. As for her belly that won't become noticable until she's about 5-6 weeks pregnant and i don't think they start eating more until the last couple of weeks of pregnancy. Also she probably won't be interested in the stud if she isn't in call. please correct me if im wrong about anything, just what i have read and experienced so far

Re: info req on poss pregnant siamese
thanks for all your input. Ive had my female for 4 weeks and just taken her away from the male after being with him for 1 week. She is GCCF registered on the active list and was told that she hadnt been bred before. Ive had Siamse cats before and understand how vocal and effectionate they can be, its just she seems a lot more intense than Ive had before.
My concerns are that due to the lack of interest by both male and female is that ive been sold a cat that has been spayed. The vet has already explained that unless a scar can be seen there is no way to tell if spayed. My only other thinking is that its already pregnant by some random tom and the seller hasnt informed me. I suppose i am trying to justify her behaviour. She is an adorable cat and think is absolutely wonderful, and if this affection is just the norm for her then I will have to learn to type one handed as she is perched on my keyboard when ever i sit still at my computer ![]() |

Re: info req on poss pregnant siamese
Personally I wouldn't have put her straight in with a stud if you had only just got her. She should have been given time to settle at your house first before trying to get her pregnant. Going to stud is stressful enough and it can knock them off call. Was she calling when you took her to stud ? She won't be receptive to the studs advances unless she was in call. They won't call if they are stressed and a new home is stressful.
If this whole event was 4 weeks ago, then if pregnant her nipples will be bright pink and more prominent than usual. If they aren't then she probably isn't pregnant, but thats not reason to assume that she has been spayed either. I would give her time to settle. She will come into call in her own time, then you can take her back to stud.
