hi all,
Our femail cat that went missing has returned to us heavily pregnant. She is showing all the signs of early labour, pacing, trying to find some where to nest, she is being very loving, purring very loud and has lost some whiteish fluid last night and again this morning, but as yet has had no contractions. she is also producing milk. we have experienced cat labour before but it has never taken this long to get going. should we be worried? thanks sue |

Re: need advice urgantly please
The whitish fluid you saw could possibly be the mucous plug - contractions do not always follow that, it can be a good 24hrs or longer before contractions start. It just an indicator things are getting started.
If you do have any concerns then your vet should be your first port of call.

Re: need advice urgantly please
It sounds like she lost her plug last night etc - give her a bit more time. If the discharge turns a horrid colour or if she hasn't given birth in a few hours and you are sure she is in labour - take her to a vets. Pre-labour can be a day or so. But if she is straining and nothing is happening then a vet is needed. Maybe get her to vets anyway for a check up. If she is getting distressed then vets again.
I'm glad she has come home - what a surprise for you!

Re: need advice urgantly please
thanks, she is sound asleep on our bed now. i think she is going to keep us waiting lol.
talk about double wammy! our other femail cat supprised us on boxing day by giving birth to a single kitten . He is nearly four weeks old now and a little mini me. Both cats are off to vets as soon as kittens are old enough! ![]() |

Re: need advice urgantly please
still no kittens! Saphira is trying to get into our wardrobe or drawers so i know she is close. I don't think it was a show as its white and not gloopy it does not smell at all which is good.
As for our 4 week old kitten,he is taking an interest in food so we are going to try him on some kitten food. will put a picture of him on here as he is so cute. |
