Morning sickness??

I'm currently fostering a kitty who may or may not be pregnant. It's possible she hadn't been spayed by her previous owners & was then caught in the shelter by a freshly neutered male.

Anyway! It was an accidental pregnancy & she's being spayed as soon as possible after the birth (if there is one).

My question is - do cats get morning sickness? She's been retching a little bit & swallowing it (eww) the last couple of days and I'm wondering if it's anything to be worried about.

Re: Morning sickness??

She's on the Go Cat indoor cat food which is supposed to have enough green in it to shift hairballs or whatever it is that grass does. If the ground wasn't covered in snow I'd get her a plate of it from outside.

Thanks! At the moment Tia has to put up with me constantly feeling for kittens. ;p She's booked in to see the vet next Tuesday.

Re: Morning sickness??

She is longhair & incredibly fluffy. I'll get her some hairball remedy and see if that helps. I've got her on an increased diet and feeding her kitten food once a day until we know for certain (which will be about the halfway point) next week that she's definitely pregnant.

Do they swallow hairballs? It's pretty gross when she starts yakking & then has a big gulp. I've heard that can be pretty bad for their stomach since they can't digest it?

Re: Morning sickness??

could be that they are not coming up and its just the bile stuff! may just be a reaction to being preggers!!! have you got any formula milk in just incase, nothing worse that being caught out unprepared, cimicat, which i get from my vets is good, also royal canin do a good onesometimes the milk doesnt come in,or you have a big litter with the weakest getting pushed out, good luck
