Russian blue question????

A friend of mine has had an enquiry from a lady who has a blue point siamese, she wanted one of her british to mate with it.
She said this produces a russian blue?????

I dont know much about the breed but it does seem a little odd to me, especially as they have green eyes, not orange ? She has no prefix and her cat isnt registered, my friend told her to naff off politly but Its left me wonderingconfused:

Sounds like another fancy cross to me ???

Re: Russian blue question????

The russian blue is a naturaly occuring breed all in it's own right - it isn't created by crossing a siamsese and a bristish blue. After the war siamese were used to help get the breed back on track but this isn't the case any more.

Thanks for that, I will pass it on. It did seem very strange. I dread to think what the kittens would look like

Re: Russian blue question????

Well I don't know, the offspring could bear some resemblance to a Russian, I have a Burmese cross Moggy who resembles a Russian more than anything else. It's a daft idea of course!

Re: Russian blue question????

the kittens would be lovely (but then i am biased when it comes to blue cats lol) however as said before they would not produce russian blues only cats that resemble russian blues but that could vary.. they could look like anything from a solid blue siamese to a british blue
