Re: newly born kitten advice needed!

Congratulations. Look after Mum and, as long as all is well, she will look after the kittens completely for the first four weeks. You can check all is well by daily weighing of the kittens - if there are two or more that look identical you will have to find some means of distinguishing between them unless their weights are so far apart that you can tell which is which without having to visually identify them. I've never yet had to do this, others might have some suggestions about how to do it. They should gain weight rapidly over the first couple of weeks, you're probably looking at a weight gain of between 5 and 10 grams per day with Siamese, I would think.

Re: newly born kitten advice needed!

thanks everyone!

just managed to get sum digital weighing scales today and weighed all four kittens they were born yesterday between 7.30-9.00am how much should they weigh now?

I know i should have weighed them as soon as they were born but only got it delivered today!

Congratulations on the birth of the babies
When I have identical looking kittens I mark the inside of the ear with a felt tip

I wouldn't use pen I would use different coloured ribbon or wool then you can make it bigger as they grow. More pics please if you have time

Re: newly born kitten advice needed!

thanks guys, i have tried using a felt pen but mummy keeps licking it off so its night number three and ive still got no tracking of their weights

i think il try the ribbon idea,

just weighed them and they're weights are ranging from 147g- 131g... is this ok to say they where born Sunday morning?
