Is my cat Pregnant??

Hiya all,
My female cat went missing about 7 weeks ago, she returned 2 days later.
She has not been neutered and I am worrying she maybe having kittens.
I took her the vet's after 3 weeks and he couldnt tell. He said it was too early.
Now that I think we could be expecting Kittens, im picking up things. She has become very loving, gained a bit of weight but we have changed her food. She paws the carpets to get under our rug and she will hide behind our bed which I dont know if this could be nesting.
Can anyone please help???
Please do not comment with pathetic things like we should be more responsible, we are and this was an accident. There will be no unwanted kitten's if she is.
Thanks

I am in no way a proffesional but I have a little experience with my own cat, I am sure somebody will be along a lot more knowlegable than me but here goes:

If she got pregnant when she went missing, you will defo know she is expecting as you will prob feel the kittens moving as she will only have a couple of weeks left before she pops them out .

Another thing to look for is large pink nipples.

Have you got a birthing box ready? she does sound like she is nesting. She may want to find a quiet spot to give birth

Hope this helps, pleae let us know of any updates.

Re: Is my cat Pregnant??

Hiya,
Many thanks for your comments.
She is very fluffy so it's hard to see her nipples, but I can feel them. However, I am not too sure if we could feel them before.
She used to be rather skinny and since she went missing we have changed her food, but she has put weight on.
Also if she is in the kitchen with the door shut she will cry and paw the door until its open.
We did get told by someone that it will be very unlikely she comes back and isnt pregnant.

Re: Is my cat Pregnant??

They carry for nine weeks you will normally see pinking of the nipples after 3 weeks or so but her abdomen should alot bigger and rounder after 6 weeks. How old is she? you need to get her on kitten food if she is otherwise she will loose alot of weight after having them. I would get her spayed asap after the kittens are weaned so once the milk is dried up which if they stop nursing around 6 or 7 weeks should be dried up by 12 weeks or so. Dont let her out as she can get pregnant again very quick. you dont want her having another litter again so quick plus there are also alot of unwanted cats out there so unless you are considering breeding seriously (providing she is a pedigree) I would definately get her spayed. I am not saying you cant breed moggies but theres not much point considering the hundreds of cats being put down every year because they are not wanted.
If your keeping kittens please be aware that they can get pregant at a young age and some may start calling at 4 months so you need to be vigilant and careful they dont get out also.
