labour signs???

hi i wanted to get some advise.
i think my cat is in labor but this is my first time technically so im not sure.

this is what she been doing:

she has gone of her food still eats but not as quickly as she used 2.
she quite moany and anoyed,
if i get up and leave room she follows me,
sometimes if she dont follow she will meow till i come 2 her,
she overly affectionate (even though she affectionate cat) she is more so lately,
she isnt comfy in less she is sitting on me and im patting her(lol)

does this mean she in labor??? or starting or near?

Re: labour signs???

Do you know how many days she is ? All those things could be signs of imminent labour, but could also be for other reasons.

In the last few days their bump drops, just before labour begins kittens go a bit quieter than usual. Her ladies bit will be more prominent and juicy looking. You may see a clear discharge, as well as a thick creamy blob - the plug (you don't always see that as they are fastidiously clean). Some have diarrhoea the day before, some don't, some go off their food some don't. They temp drops just before labour, but you wouldn't really be able to tell that unless you had been regularly taking it. Their milk comes in and they feel very pouchy underneath. Most obvious signs are their tummies getting very hard with a contraction. When those start she may cry out or look for somewhere to bury her head.

Does she have a birthing box set up somewhere quiet and draft free. The darker and cave like you can make it in there the more she will like it.

Good luck

Re: labour signs???

no i dont know how far along she is as my partner was the one who let her out in first time(quite a few times) claiming that she wasn't in heat (lol).

there is still alittle bit of movement in there.
she is a notorious cleaner she cleans so much it puzzles my partner lol.
her tummy sort of hard and every now and then she makes a weird meow noise she is quite restless moves and paces then plonks onto the floor as if she utterly tired.
yes i made my wardrobe her birthing area it dark and close by as she is clingy 2 me.
also she been sleeping on the floor alot for her it abnormal she likes 2 sleep with me in bed. i suppose since summer starting her she is just a bit hot.

Smile Re: labour signs???

It could be the start but without knowing a guesstimate on her dates there is no way of knowing for sure. When my Twinkle went into labour she would not leave me alone all day and she meowed constantly , she had her first kitten 7.30 that evening, she never went off her food but did eventually shut up after she lost her plug about 6-6.30 ish

Don't know if that helps but please keep us all updated we LOOOVE kittens.

Good luck
