we had managed to keep her in then my 4yr old opened door and Sapphy was off like a shot lol. didnt come back til after midnight. just dont really know what to expect. also like i said before how do u go about handling the kittens?

ok perhaps the sign is not exactly "GOOD" but it indicates that perhaps she is pregnant.
Kittens are reasonably robust for picking up so long as you don't squeeze them too hard - they'll soon yell out if they feel uncomfortable. As for handling the queen, I thinks she is safe to pick up until she starts to show a bump on either side and then I would probably resist handling her too much. It is possible to pick up your queen if you need to, do so gently - just dont grab her round the middle. Not sure if I understood and hope my reply is appropriate ...

Good luck Kate with your Mum, we had a stray that came to us pregnant and has 4 kittens now. There is nothing like it in the world it is so exciting. Keep us posted on how she is doing.

Hi Kate
Hope my original thread has been of some help. It isn't as scary as you may think. My Chicken is quite small - compared to my other 3 cats she is about half their size and managed things no problem after the first babe was born. As soon as things start to happen, post here and like I was, you'll be talked through everything if you are worried. Best of luck and I am sure things will be ok. Hugs to you and your mum cat xx |
