Kitten wieghts

Hi everyone, Cinderella had her 4 beautiful kittens on Saturday i managed to wieght them all yesterday and the smallest was 4.1 oz and the biggest 4.6 oz. I have managed to do it again today and they have all gained wieght but some more than others, is there a certain amount they need to be putting on each day or is just as long as there gaining. I was also wondering if i have anything to worry about with my smallest birthwiaght kitten being the one who's gained the least wieght. Sorry for rambling Cinderella is doing a fantastic job with them i just want to make sure i do my bit right.
Thankyou

Re: Kitten wieghts

I've put them in google for conversions lol, my smallest born was 116gms and my biggest was 130gms. If i've done it right then my biggest has put on 17gms in a day and my smallest only 11gms. Hope this makes sense.

Re: Kitten wieghts

They sound fine. Very good birth weights and increases. Average increase should be about 10 to 15 g a day, but any increase is great. Increases will fluctuate and sometimes they have a huge gain one day and then nothing or next to nothing the next.

Re: Kitten wieghts

Hi Cinderella - I work in Grammes too. 4 oz is about 125 g and your babies are all very good weights. I am usually quite pleased with an increase of 11 g in one day - although it can vary between kittens and even between one day and another. Sounds like you need not worry.

I have known breeders who have seen kittens born with much smaller birth weights who still end up with nice babies.
