Help new mum not settling

Hi,
My cat Cinderella has had 4 kittens tonight she was fantastic, it was in her birthing box, and i stayed next to her throughout, all 4 were delivered in 3 hours and she licked them all and was perfect. The problem is now when i leave the room she comes running after me and starts crying what should i do. Just to say this is her first birth.

Re: Help new mum not settling

Hi this is totally normal, even experienced mums can take a few days to settlehopefully in a couple of days she will settle, its when they move the kitts around and you come down in the morning to a empty box is when you start to worry
she will go to the kitts when they cry,as long as they are feeding well and not constantly crying they will be fine.

Re: Help new mum not settling

my girl had 7 kitts yesterday when i was at work,my daughter sent me a frantic text saying chloe was halfway down the stairs with a kitten hanging out!!! she will not settle if i am not there beside her,so i had to rush home and sit 4 hours with her, then return to workshe was up and down all night in and out of the kitten pen, every now and then i would hear a squeak so i would get out of bed abd go down to check she wasnt laying on onewe call her a duck because she plonks herself on top of them
