Stud Advertising

Hey all

My girls are a little young to be mated yet but nothing wrong in doing my background work!!

Does anyone know of good websites that advertise stud services? Ive treid pets4homes, kittenlist and kittymania but not much on them really.
I also want to mate my girls with champions so as to keep the good lines and pedigree

Thanks

Re: Stud Advertising

If you google your breed you should be able to find breeders in your area.

Re: Stud Advertising

What about trying the different cat clubs. We have an open stud list on ours for the Norwegians

Sometimes it's not easy trying to find the right boy. Apart from your breed clubs, you could also go along to a few shows (if you have transport?) and then you can speak with some breeders and also see some boys as well. Or, look at cats/kittens who are doing well on the bench who have that look that you like and then see who their sire was and contact the owner/breeder.

Hmmm but im assuming that i dont want a stud too far away - is that right?
What would you say the max distance would be that you would travel with a screaming queen? LOL

Re: Stud Advertising

Yea, as Linda says if you want the best, you have to be willing to travel, unless you are lucky enough to have a good stud boy close by We took our 1st Queen to Scotland, this time our other Queen went to Lincoln.

Re: Stud Advertising

You will probably have to travel if you are after a certain stud and it all depends whether the stud owner will let you into her boy.

Re: Stud Advertising

Is this for your burmese or siamese or both? I also would go to as many shows as I could and talk to stud owners and maybe show your girls too.
