Hope you know better.

Hello, I was google-ing stages of pregnancy for my baby Shakespeare (avatar picture) and came across this wonderful site and thought maybe someone may be able to help.

Me and my partner have dealt with expecting Queen's before but obviously each go through different symptoms.

We have known for a while, can't put a exact date on it, that our little Queen is pregnant. But I do worry a lot in general so to put my mind at rest I hope for someone to tell me at what stage of pregnancy she may be in.

Her Symptoms today:

[x] She is very round now.
[x] Her breathing seems to be fast and hasn't a stable pace.
[x] She is affectionate more than usual.
[x] When she finally does get herself to sleep, she frequently looks up and looks uncomfortable so re-positions herself.
[x] Her nipples are very large and noticeable.
[x] When she was eating her back legs were strangely, slightly apart.
[x] She has been hissing at her brother (so we have put her in a seperate room) but it isn't like her to be that way towards him.

AND the one that I have never noticed before:

[x] A lot of movement of kittens in her tummy and when I gently rest my hand on her tummy they are felt clearly.

I know Queens generally lose their appetite before giving birth, but as Shakespeare's mother didn't and had few, nearly none, known symptoms, it makes me wonder if Shakespeare is going to let me know properly.

I hope someone can help. Thank you for your time.

Re: Hope you know better.

Sounds like she is imminent! Has she been emptying her bowels a lot, that is a sign as well? The being mardy and over-affectionate is also a sign. Just make sure she has a nice quiet, darkish place to have the kits where you can observe, I use cardboard boxes with a blanket in! and watch and watch and watch etc.

Re: Hope you know better.

Zelda had her kittens today and had all the above symptoms for about the last week - I hope that helps a little.

Re: Hope you know better.

She has been toileting frequently. See a part of me thinks that she will give birth tonight, another part makes me think, she's still being silly and playful and Is that possible? It will be her first birth, but I also worry as it seems she hasn't found a nest yet.

-looks to Shakespeare- and now she is meowing at my partner. lol

Congratulations Emstarz I hope they and mum are okay. Is it a normal thing to last a week? Or could Shakespeare have the same symptoms and give birth later or earlier?

Re: Hope you know better.

Believe me as soon as I noticed she was getting close to the end of the beginning I have been on kitten watch, every meow I start baby talk to her "you okay bubi, kittens moving too much? *strokes*" I'm too protective over her. But the thing that really got my attention was all the movement in her tummy, Is that a known sign for kittens to move a lot before labour?

Re: Hope you know better.

Can't say i've noticed that myself but with mine being longhairs its difficult to see these things. They will move down towards the birthing channel that is nature and prob what you are seeing now with all the movement.

Re: Hope you know better.

lol that's reassuring but to most of the family in the same house, my little Queen's birth isn't important to them, and sleep is...

I want to stay up all night, as I have a strange feeling she might give birth, and stay here for advice but it's seems impossible. But if she does I will zoom on here keep you guys updated and when mum and kittens have settled, in a week or so my photo album will be flooded with pictures of them lol.

My fiance says "I'm not excited" but everytime she moves he is there first and stroking her, and just now panic as to where in the room she has gone. So no doubt i will have his company if she gives birth, even if he has work at 6am lol

I roughly knew her due date but for the past week have been watching her closely as she was doing all you have mentioned she was also toileting often but this morning it was runny - I know it's not helpful to say she wasn't much different this morning than she has been for the past week - until she jumped on my shoulder and popped her waters - Charming
It could be anytime now.
Stay close, stay online, good luck, enjoy it's amazing!
