Re: Help Needed

Ok. Will do, but i was jsut reading some other threads and restlessness could be a sign although she has been walking round alot, although this could be due to new surroundings. They are both staying at my partners house, I am going there now, incase she decides to drop tonight,(if thats a possibility?)
Would I be alrite to take your numbero r something to contact you incase of anything as i wont be able to get to a computer. Compleely up to you, in an emergency can contact cats protection.

Re: Help Needed

Hi Jellybean

First, let me say, good on you for taking such good care of these two queens and like you, I think its not quite right (putting it mildly) that they should be allowed to be pregnant again so soon after having a litter. However, I believe you have got good advice from Kelly, Chris and Liz. Like Liz, I would say that the girl you showed us the picture of is around 5-6 weeks pregnant. Normally, gestation is between 63-70 days so quite a range (depending on the breed - siamese/orientals can keep one waiting for up to 70 days but my own queens tend to deliver the goods by day 68 or 69).

Please feel free to pm or email me. Hope it all goes well.

Best wishes and kind regards

Re: Help Needed

by the way ... sometimes its hard NOT to intervene. Usually, the queen is quite good at looking after her babies. You only need to get involved if the kitten is actually in difficulty and recognising this is the thing you need to be aware of ... it looks like early days yet and plenty of time for you to have a look on vet websites of kitten births etc.

Another sign of imminent parturition is the emission of clear liquid from the posterior. This might give you about 24 hours notice and of course contractions will mean that kittens are due very soon. Don't let the queen push hard for more than two hours without a kitten being born.

Re: Help Needed

I'd say she is due about same time as mine which is 23rd May, although my girl is a bit larger than her, I think that week onwards is what you need to be looking at
