Re: Help Needed

Oh right, well when I checked the right side teats are hanging down(sorry none of this is phrased correctly Im no expert on all this) amd are not solid but do feel full of something. I have got a nesting place set up and she keeps sleeping in it. The bengal cross is no were near as big as the siemese.
I know the gestation period for a cat is app 63 days, so how long would you guess she has left just so i have a rough idea?

Jeez its like saying how long is a piece of string unless you've witnessed the mating there is no way of knowing for sure, but with the siamese personally I would think within the next week

Re: Help Needed

Some of the signs are...................a lot of emptying of the bowels, searching for nesting bed, clingy/mardiness (if there is such a word) and stopping eating after having a good binge eat. Hope this helps. C.x.

You will need round ended scissors or sharp nails for the umbilical cord unless the cat bites it off herself. Always leave a good inch and a half.

Paper towels and bin/plastic bag to get rid of afterbirths.

Watch to make sure kit is breathing and got sac off head, open the airway if necessary with your little finger.

Sterilising solution for your own hands and scissors.

These are just the basics btw, lol

Re: Help Needed

Oh right lol, Any chance you have the time to go into more detail?
I know tihs may sound stupid but when I was younger and use to watch animal hospital I remember somtimes they would hold them in a towel and swing them up and down to open their airways, or is that for ones that can not breathe properly?

No just getting your little finger in there is normally ok to open the airways, but you prob wont even have to do that cos mum normally does it all.
