Re: Pedigrees!

Yeah there's breeders assistant but these programs arnt cheap, over £100 I think. It's easy enough to type your own up on a pc, but I'm an old fashioned traditional lass and still like to handwrite mine eek:D

Re: Pedigrees!

I do my own starting off with powerpoint or MS Word then print out on good quality card. I do not laminate in case people like to put them in a frame behind glass. The only handwriting on my certificates is my signature.

My skills in calligraphy have been left behind in school days - wouldn't trust myself to have the same quality of penmanship throughout the entire document without any errors or splodges. I admire those who can do it though.

Re: Pedigrees!

Yes, we use Breeders Assistant and laminate - I also like to insert a photo of the mum, and the dad (if I have a photo) and the kitten.

Re: Pedigrees!

I did mine the other week on my computer using Microsoft Excel. It took me ages to type it out but I have saved it and can use it again if I do the same mating in the future.

I have bought some nice card from hobbycraft that can go in the printer to print them out on. My daughter has a laminator so I will be borrowing that from her soon!

Re: Pedigrees!

Yeh I use breeder's assistant and use the layout with photos of the kitten and his/her mum and dad. I don't laminate though.

Re: Pedigrees!

We use Breeders Assistant and find it very useful for Pedigree's, Cover Sheets and Agreements as well as just keeping a record. I guess £100 is quite expensive but for us it was worth it. We are not sure whether to laminate our pedigrees or print them with a foldable cover sheet so that they can be folded a little booklet.
