Poppy - still no kittens

Hi all,

as many of you know Poppy is heavily pregnant with her first litter. I managed to work out that yesterday would be the 60th day. I know they are pregnant for 64 days but Poppy has been acting really strange since Saturday. She has hardly eaten anything since yesterday morning. The fur has separated from the nipples. She is very clingy with me and my OH (who she normally hates, lol).
I have positioned a couple of kittening boxes around the house but i have been trying to keep her in the spare room as that way she is away from the other cats and dogs.
I know i cant force her to eat but im getting a lil bit worried now.
A few people have told me that this is normal and that a lot of cats go off their food.
Please help!!

Re: Poppy - still no kittens

they can go off their food, and when they r due to give birth a few days before they get very affectionate and wont leave u alone, she obviously wants u 2 b with her when she has the babies, u will find wen she goes into labour she will b happy in her box, so long as u r with her, mine got out every time i moved away, so had 2 sit on floor next to her untill she had hers, but was happy for me 2 let her get on with it after the 1st 1 was born, but i stayed with her all the time,
Hope this helps,

Hello Kelsie - sending good wishes to Poppy and you. Hope it all goes smoothly. When birth is imminent, you may notice a clear discharge from her posterior but could be you wont notice anything as cats like to keep themselves well groomed. By this time, she will be spending a lot of time in her nest, digging around to rearrange the bedding and so on.

Sending good wishes.
