Aah but science does come into Fluff-otherwise how you gonna breed the colors, type etc-unless your wanting to breed general Siams as opposed to showstoppers-dunno

Re: How many Queens have you got? How many Litters?

I have one breeding girl and one of my kittens who I have registered on the active as a future breeding queen.

I only plan to have one litter a year from them so will probably only have a maximum of three litters from each.

Yes, that's because they grow about a dozen extra legs each as soon as they see the wormer

Potentially I have five, but two have not yet called and a third may well prove unable to carry another litter to term following her recent pyo.

Re: How many Queens have you got? How many Litters?

My heart always sinks when I see threads like this, with people generalising and saying having more than x number of litters is 'too many'.

'Enough' is as many as you can cope with. If you can cope with only three litters, then have only three.

If you can cope with fifty (let's say you have staff and a huge house with converted outbuildings), then have fifty.

We currently have eight litters.

Re: How many Queens have you got? How many Litters?

I think this goes down to breeders choice. I personnality won't have kittens born or raised outside. I don't even put young adults out in my heated cattery until they are calling or start to spray.

PG Girls come inside in my bedroom or study. 4 wks before they are due. Kittens 8wks or older are put in our garden room and they love it.

BUT I am not judging anyone else. This is how I bring up my kittens. 2 to 3 Litters I find easy to raise and socialise and I am not to rushed off my feet.

I raise the kittens and my mother helps with the adults and mopping of the cattery.
Love my mum. She has the glamorous job of cleaning out stinky Rambeaux!
