Re: rules around offering as a stud

Was your cat bought on the active register, and did you have a contract when you got him?
Unless he has specifically been bought as a stud, he probably won't be registered as a breeding boy.

Well if he is registered 'active' and you have a contract to state that he can be used as a stud, then I don't see why not.
This might sound a funny question - but do you actually breed, or do you have an entire male that you want to offer as a stud?

Re: rules around offering as a stud

If he's on the active register then he can be used for stud. If you are in a breed club that is probably the best place to make him known - most breed clubs hold a stud list. Also you need to show him to get him known.

You must make sure you have secure accommodation for the visiting queens and you will need to have him tested for FELV and FIV (and possibly blood type depending on your breed's rules).

Re: rules around offering as a stud

Hiya Liz, just drifting off a little from this post. I have never had visiting queens to my studs. Could you elaborate a little on exactyly what they have to be tested for, just in case i decide to go down that route? Many thanks, c.x.
