Re: Anyone early neutering?

Zero with Savannahs - the cats are only just entering the country and all the people I know of are early neutering.
Bengals are more of a problem - although I've not come across a BYB yet - they are certainly about.

Re: Anyone early neutering?

I think all vets should do it. There have been plenty of studies showing that it does no harm longterm to the cats. I feel they need to step up and read the new studies.

Agreed. I think we're very lucky with our vets.

Re: Anyone early neutering?

oh i do i got my bengal from a breeder that was happy to sell me her knowing she was for breeding me being stupid i suppose ended up with

bengal - no paperwork
british - no paperwork

but i did see the paperwork for them but she needed it to register kittens and said she would give it to me (never got it)

i have to say yes i did have 3 litters (my last litter was born last week) from the bengal with the british and now after reading and speaking to people about byb i have decided to breed registered bengals and have the bengal and british netuered, i would like to add i do think early neuterin would stop byb and pregnant mistakes too,

so i am all for it !!!

Re: Anyone early neutering?

i have a registered ragdoll, my breeder got realy cross with me as i hadnt got him neutered by 6 months, but my vet wouldnt do it as he had a retracted testical, i was very worried as i wanted it done, and didn't want him to start spraying.
i had him done at 7 months,1of his testicals was in his groin, but i saw them both in a test tube, i felt more relaxed once he'd been done.

Re: Anyone early neutering?

early neutering is the best way to stop BYB but finding a Vet to do this is very difficult
