Are there and British Blue breeders on here?

i was wondering if someone knows the answer to this...
I bought Winston without papers...he was quite chunky when he was tiny but as he's got older his face has slimed out. Lola on the other hand is VERY chunky in her features.....

I've also noticed Winston has 'spots' at the bottom of his coat when it catches the light (demonstrated by my poorly taken photo below)

Is it possible he has been crossed by something else or do all juvenile British blues have these coat markings (he's 6 months old now)..his tail is also getting less stripy..Lola however doesn't have much of a stripy tail atall..her colour is solid throughout

im not a expert but last year I bought pedigree ragdoll, she said she would send papers on.... long story short it was a Persian cross ragdoll but unless you were told you wouldnt have known.

I guess he could be a cross or even 3/4 I dont know how you would know without papers

His gorgeous though!

Re: Are there and British Blue breeders on here?

Ghost tabby markings will mean that in his background he has that tabby pattern somewhere. All cats have tabby pattern, it's just that if they are non-agouti the pattern will not show or at least will only show faintly in a certain light. I imagine - someone will correct me if I am wrong - that British selfs are like Burmese in that by selection for clear coats you end up with the great majority being ticked tabby pattern (which you wouldn't see in a non-agouti cat) which is dominant. Mackerel (which breaks up into spots in the presence of the spotting gene) can be carried for ever, in theory, though of course if you are many generations from the original spotted parent the odds of it being carried are very low. All it means is that he has two spotties somewhere in his pedigree (one on each side).

Hoping I got it right!!

Liz
