How likely is it that my cat is pregnant? :-S

Hi all. First post but pritty sure il be on here a fair bit from now on. My cat whos just about to be 1 yr old in a week or so entered her first heat on thursday showing all the normal effects (calling, over affectionate etc etc), on friday she manages to get out through one of the velux windows upstairs, and when I returned from work I saw her with a black long haired cat which I could only assume was a Tom. She was out for most of the day, and didnt return untill about 9pm initially showing no further signs of being in heat so naturally I assume she's probably mated and pregnant... however today, she is still showing some signs of being in heat which from my understanding isnt normal if she has actually mated.

Does anyone have any ideas? The calling and rolling round etc is certainly no where near what it was like over the past couple of days, but she still does it every now and then, so im unsure if this is normal after mating or not? Shes also been pritty sleepy although I cant say if this is more or less than she has been after being outside for the whole day... she slept with us all last night (from about 1am- 8am, and is asleep again now on our ironing board lol. Not sure if this is related though...

Thanks, Grangey

They will call for several days even if they have been mated. Chances are extremely high that she is pregnant.

I would want to know who let the un neutered male cat out, if he goes around mating all these girls who knows what he could have caught/passed around!

Would it be to late to terminate the litter? or are you going to go ahead if she has one?

Likely. You should have had her neutered around 6 months if you didn't want this to happen.

i take it you wanted to mate her as you did not have her spayed.

i also take it she does not normally go out??

you will have to wait in about two weeks nipples will pink up, take a look at what they look like now and in two weeks look again but to be honest if she was in call and the local tom was with her, she will be pregnant.

Re: How likely is it that my cat is pregnant? :-S

id agree that shes more then likley going to be pregnant make a not of the date she should have the kittens in around 9 weeks. The date is really importnat incase she needs a vet later on. Try and keep her in from now on, you can get an injection to abort the kittens but it has to be done within 24 hours i think it might be worth your while ringing the vets?
