Re: tilly is giving birth!!!!!
see if you can get her to lick the second kitten to remove the membranes or it will not be able to breathe. I'm not very good at this as it is years since I had a cat giving birth. Is Tilly hissing at you? If not try taking the placenta away so that she can concentrate on the kittens.
I'm sure there are lots of breeders with tons of experience but I think you should very gently try to remove the second kitten if she does not seem to be able to deliver it herself. If you can, rub it in a soft, clean, warm towel to remove the membrane and help it to start breathing - this is what the mum should do when she washes a newborn kitten. Give it back to Tilly as soon as you can - push it under her nose so that she can deal with it. hope this is some help. good luck |
