New to Forum....thought I would ask for a little advice

Hi All,

A little advice if I may? I have a pregnant little Lady due sometime next week. She is a fussy little eater (always has been) and whilst pregnant have been trying to give her kitten food. I have obivously tried several brands (ok alot!) but each time she turns her nose up at it! She will eat the adult food I put down but am concerned she is not getting the nutriional value she currently needs...has anyone out there fed adult food to a pregnant queen and can recommend a high nutrional one or some kind of supplement? I intend to speak with a vet tomorrow but their seems to be alot of experience here also so thought I would pose the question here also! She won't eat dry food either! I have tried white fish, rice and cimicat combi which she loves, just don't know if that is enough for her!

Hi and welcome
I wouldn't worry that your girl isn't eating kitten food as long as she is having a good quality food. My girls have raw from Natural Instinct and also Bozita, Hi-Life and Nature's Menu. At the moment my youngest queen (4 weeks pregnant) is going mad for RC wet - should never have given her the free sample I had she just wolfs it down. I've never bothered with giving them kitten food, though I do wean kittens on it to start with.

Bozita is available in a few pet shops but you can buy it online from Zooplus Bozita Moist Cat Food: great bargains at zooplus
or Mutely&Mog Bozita, Bozita Cat - Meat Variety Pack - UK
Zooplus do a very wide range of different foods but you have to buy in bulk so not a good idea if your cat doesn't like the food

don't mind buying in bulk if the little lady loves it....will try and see if I can buy it in a smaller quantity or go direct maybe? see if I can't get a sample.

she is actually going mad for the whiskas steamed fish thing at the moment...now I know we all have cravings but not convinced it has the nutrionally value a pregnant princess needs!

Mutley&Mog will do individual cartons - you have to pay postage but it would be worth it to try
I'm not convinced of the nutritional value of RC - nothing on the pack to give meat content at all - but she does enjoy it

I can only agree with Lynn - and ask for photos of your girl. I like Lynn feed adult good quality food to kittens and queens - raw, Bozita, Smilla etc. But the important thing is she eats and if she will ONL eat Whiskas then give her that until you find another she will eat - I think Bozita is probably the best one to try initially - especially the reindeer pate.

Reindeer Pate!! What a pampered puss! Thank you, had a look at the website and will certainly be purchasing and if she doesn't like it I am sure my "old boy" will!

Re: New to Forum....thought I would ask for a little advice

what breed is she? what are you expecting??

what about feeding kitten biscuits & adult wet meat? Classic is ok for kittens & adults with extra taurine (I called and asked) so I always feed better quality wet meat & kitten biscuits
