New member seeking advice.
Hi my name is Steve from Northamptonshire, I have recentlty adopted 2 Persian cats from a rescue centre, their names are Elliot (Cream Colourpoint) and Alfie (Chocolate) both cats are between 7 and 9 years of age and I am trying to get some history i.e a certificate of their past.
I beleive that they lived in Northampton and their elderly owner died hence the reason they were in the rescure centre, both cats are extremly loving and have their own little personalities, any help would me much appreciated. Thanks again Steve |

Re: New member seeking advice.
They are sweet things (for Persians - not my personal cup of tea - but there you go).
I think you are going to find it very difficult to find out any info on these cats - a) they are quite old b) you don't have their pedigree names and c) you don't know the area of the country they originally were breed in. For example, I live in Dorset, but . . . my Birman is from Suffolk, my moggie from Fife in Scotland and my RagaMuffin from South Wales - just because I live in Dorset doesn't mean my cats are from Dorset. Also my Coda's proper name is Valleycat Creme-Caramel - not what I call her or what a rescue would call her. What I would suggest, is that you contact the rescue and see if they have a) any more information and b) if they will pass on a message to the family of the lady that died as if they were registered (and there is always a chance they weren't and were from a byb, in which case you are jiggered) they might still have the paperwork lying around. Then maybe contact a load of established (at least 9 years old) Persian breeders (starting in your area) and see if they remember selling these cats - now here is the bit where names are important - even if they did sell the cat unless they knew what names the new owners gave them they can't help you. If you have no luck you will then have to widen your search possibly until you have covered the whole country. Then you may have to look into breeders that no longer breed but were breeding 9 years ago. The relevant cat registries may be able to help you with names there, BUT which registry GCCF, TICA or FiFE. A task and a half. Sorry to pour water on your parade but I think maybe just enjoy them for what they are; unless you are the sort of person that enjoys trying to solve a puzzle to which there is a great likelihood of no happy ending.

Re: New member seeking advice.
I would start by finding out of they were microchipped by the original owner, then you can get their name and address, then you can contact the gccf that's if they were registered.
