Tilly's Kitten Update

Hi all

an update on Tilly's kittens - they are all growing well and have found new owners though a good few weeks off moving out just yet they are now 6 weeks and eyes starting to turn a gorgeous green

all playing well and growing well apart from poor Squish - now named Ebony. He's staying with Val and her daughter and is going to the vets this week for investigation into why he's doing so poorly. He has no temperature, breathing is fine, eyes are clear and is active for short bursts - feeding well too. Weaker than the other kittens in general, very quiet next to them and sleeps a lot more and a fair bit smaller. Vet came out to see him yesterday and "hmm'd" a bit and said to bring him into the surgery next week for an ultrasound.

The other 4 - now called Bella, PJ, Frisky and Whiskers are going to their new homes after jabs are done if all goes to plan (as in Val actually lets them go )

oh forgot to say Tilly is booked for spay at end of feb and thanks to a fantastic person rounding up donations the kittens vaccinations are covered and new owners have signed an agreement to neuter before letting them out

Re: Tilly's Kitten Update

Ebony is back right (black and white, no blaze, white chin/chest) - chest wasn't noticably flat but I didn't know to look

Vet suspects mitral valve defect as worst case scenario, may just be a case of being 'runty' and catch up in time but Val was too sick over the last week to go to vet so vet went to her - as she said Ebony isn't acting 'sick' - just isn't as robust as the others and vet agrees. Scan and blood tests next week are just to rule things out but he's not too worried.

If it *is* a hear defect hopefully surgery is an option to correct it - but we are a bit worried

Re: Tilly's Kitten Update

PawPeds have a read of this - I've no idea if the kitten has it but it is a possibility - there are varying degrees - worth a read if nothing else.

They all look very sweet and cuddly
Wishing little Ebony (I prefer Squish ) all the best and hope there is nothing too serious wrong with her
