cat calling soon after kittens left

My Birman queen has started calling really loud about a month after her last kittens left at 14 weeks old. She is 2 years old and I want to waitt about 6 months if posible before mating her again. Could this cause a problem for her. I can put up with her calling from time to time but I am a little concerned as she has come on so strong this time.Any advice would be welcome.

Re: cat calling soon after kittens left

With our second litter Mai Tai called briefly just after the kittens had gone and then not again for several months and with her first litter it was several months before she called at all - so long that I was worried that she wouldn't call again This time we have had two calls since the kittens left in November. I was hoping to leave her longer but have been advised that it may be best to let her mate when she comes into call again as it has only been two weeks between each call.

Re: cat calling soon after kittens left

We were exactly the same, our girl came in to call 6 weeks after the kittens left and has called non stop in the edn we have mated her as she was making herself ill and loosing condition. Like you we had no intension of mating her so soon after her first litter but nature had other ideas. We have since spoken to our vet and we wil be injecting her after this litter to give her a break from breeding for a while
