how soon would you breed?

Hi all

just wondering how soon after your queens last litter would you breed her again?

Vogue has had 1 litter per year over the last couple of years, her last litter was 6 months ago. she had a massive call at begining of October and is having a steady call now.

I am thinking of making this her last litter then having her spayed as have a lovely new girl to start with late next year. Anyway I was origonaly thinking of about March for next mating, She is 3yrs old and in the best condition ive ever seen her in....would you wait till march?

Re: how soon would you breed?

I usually give my girls a year between litters but totally understand sometimes its difficult as some girls call more frequently than others so you need to weigh up all the options. If she is in good condition and she has another call after this one, before March, then it may be in her interests to mate her up at that point.

Re: how soon would you breed?

What she just said!!!!!

It's important that she is in good condition but repeated calling will put her out of condition - so you have to make choice - I'd mate her next call if it were me. Unless you have a good long run between this and the next.

Re: how soon would you breed?

If she's in good condition, mate her. If she isn't, don't. There is no rule anywhere that says you have to wait a year.
