Hi All
![]() My Molly has now been in labour for over 24 hours. Shes ok although she slept for most of the day. She does the usual nesting every 15 minutes tricks, follows me even to the toilet and demands being rubbed on the belly (hard like stone) whenever she comes to rest next to me on the sofa. She is also grooming a lot but what surprised me, not her 'lady' area but her claws and generally legs ![]() She has had 2 litters previously since she's come to live with us (we rescued her so not sure of age); the first litter was a part of a Molly package - she had 5 lovely kitties, all well, healthy and super sweet. Second litter was a bit of a surprise because we never seen her go out, unless with us to the garden and back. But having experienced first, Molly proved to be perfect Mommy Queen and we were all looking forward to 2 batch of mini-beats ![]() Molly had 6 kitties that day, 4 stillborn, 1 who we managed to keep for 4 hours and another one we only found in her bed the day after. Kittens were born in term and there was no explaation from the vets. Horrible, horrible day. Molly was supposed to have been spayed after this pregnancy but I made a decision that I would not feel right, even if it was for myself, for these kitties to be remembered last. So now we are on bundle-to-be number 3 and I'M PANICKING! I did take a lot of blame last time, what if I did it again? How long can or should she be in First Stage of labour? Thank you. ![]() |

Re: Llloooonnnnggggg Labour
I would ring the vet ASAP - 24 hours is a long time - she may have a kitten stuck and need a C-section. Labour really should be over within 7 hours

Re: Llloooonnnnggggg Labour
Hi, I hope all is ok, my experience with tinks has been quite a frightening one, i hope you dont have to go through the same with your baby.
I took tinks to the vets in both of her pregnancies, the first was very long like you are explaining, of three born only one lived and she was in labour so long oxytocin was needed from the vets for the fourth, alas stillborn. The next time i had tinks was just a few days before she went into labour, it was very different and she seemed fine but then had a bloody show in the evening, the bleeding continued through the night and by the morning i took her to the vets who had to do a caesarian, i have briefed the story for you but what i am trying to get accross is if YOU feel you need help for her, then get to a vet. Tinks wouldn't have lived if i hadn't and it is essential to take that into account and at the very least get advice from the vets. Good luck and i hope all is ok. |

No news
hope either all is now well or this was a troll. It was a first post and quite a contentious one really.
